Over the past couple of days we have had about 8 inches of snow here in Boulder County. That is not unusual for Ocotober. What is unusual is the cold temperatures. It has been below freezing for the last 4 days. Roads have been icy and snow-packed, schools closed or delayed and people all bundled up.

As I was driving west on my way to coffee with a friend, this was my morning view, the mountians covered with snow and the beautiful blue sky. I was so moved I had to pull over and take a picture because I was reminded of how wonderful life is.

It’s easy to forget that, because life is also challenging and hard. We experience the death of a close friend, our family members need our care, we get an injury that slows us down, our children have problems and our finances are not what we would want. We are challenged at times just to make it through the day. At times the challenges are so constant and overwhelming that we want to give up.

Then there are days like today. Days when the beauty of the world and just being alive makes it all worthwhile. Days when the universe says life is beautiful and everthing will work out as it should.
