We will open the book. It’s pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and it’s first chapter is New Year’s Day.

For the first time this year, I got a New Year’s Card instead of a Christmas card. The words jumped out from the page to me reminding me that it is a new year with new opportunities. The first chapter may be New Year’s Day, but there is more than one chapter, 365 chapters in fact.

Every day is a new chapter. That is sometimes hard for me to remember. But each day is new and we don’t have to carry yesterday’s junk with us. We can leave it in yesterday and start with new hope, new choices and new attitude everyday. We can make the decision to do the best we can each day, so each chapter in our book is exciting and compelling, worth reading. So make tomorrow and each day a great new chapter of opportunity.
